How We Test: Our Review Methodology

At GadgetSpecs Malaysia, we believe a gadget review is only as good as the testing behind it.

Our testing process is designed to give Malaysian readers accurate, practical, and real-world insights before buying.

1. Real-World Performance Testing

Our Senior Tech Reviewer, Rashedul Islam Sagor , leads all hardware analysis. We do not rely only on specifications.

Each device is used as a primary phone for at least 3 to 7 days to evaluate real usage.

  • Battery Life: Daily use including social media, video streaming, and standby time
  • Gaming: Testing popular titles such as Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile to check heating and frame drops

2. Camera Analysis

A smartphone camera is more than megapixels. We test cameras in real Malaysian environments.

  • Daylight & Low Light: Photos taken outdoors and in dim indoor lighting
  • Video Stability: 4K and 1080p recording while walking to evaluate OIS and EIS

3. Software & User Experience

Software experience matters as much as hardware. We focus on real usability.

  • Bloatware: Number of unnecessary pre-installed apps
  • Updates: Brand track record for Android updates in Malaysia

4. Value for Money (The Malaysia Factor)

Every review ends with a local market comparison.

We compare the device with competitors available in Malaysia and ask a simple question:

“Is this the best phone you can buy for the price, for example RM1,000?”

5. Independence and Integrity

As stated in our Editorial Policy, our testing process is 100% independent.

Brands do not influence our results or final ratings. If a device is provided by a brand for review, we clearly disclose this information.
